Afterwards, having the experience of a good number of visits, you are able to see if it is worth promoting your site with any other methods like SEO.

It will save you hundreds of hours of article writing, link gathering and promotion (to say the least) and if you value your time, AdWords is the first thing you should do in order to test the waters and see if you have a profitable idea, or if you still need a lot of tweaks in order to start promoting it organically.

Last but not least, to test if your site converts well, you will have to have a good amount of visits. With SEO, this will take quite some time to reach a good position with your main keywords and therefore start getting a considerable amount of visits per day.

  • Wow, this makes a lot of sense. I actually agree- it would allow you to check whether your website is visually appealing, content-stimulating, exciting enough to draw customers in. If not, you’d probably need to go back to basics and do some web redesign before moving forward with SEO.

    • Exactly that! It will help you save many hours on guesswork and trying different things without being able to be sure what works and what is just pure luck. Thank you very much for commenting.

  • Great article! I think it is also important to mention that you can find out valuable insight from the ppc campaign which you can use as a basis for the SEO campaign. So in short, you might want to organically target your top converting ppc keywords. That way you won’t waste time going after keywords that won’t really convert.
